PADI Open Water Scuba Certification
Miami Scuba Ventures specializes in personalized scuba training. The PADI Open Water Scuba Certification Course is recognized around the globe as the premier entry level scuba certification. Once certified, PADI OW Divers are able to dive anywhere in the world, up to 60 feet (20 meters). Rent scuba equipment, get tanks filled, enroll in additional specialty certification courses, capture underwater photos, and explore shipwrecks- it's a whole new world down there!
Flexible Training Sessions
Miami Scuba Ventures' PADI certification courses are personalized and flexibly scheduled. Students create their own training schedule, with classroom, pool and ocean sessions available 7 days a week. Meet weekdays, evenings or schedule weekend sessions for 2-4 hours per session. Progressing at your own pace, you can become a certified diver in as little as 3 full days or over 4 half-day sessions (18-22 hours total). No more than 4 students per class.
Training and Facilities
PADI Master Diver Trainer, Colby Johnson, teaching since 1989, conducts all of your class and pool training. Class and pool sessions take place in Coral Gables, just South of Downtown Miami, or may be scheduled to meet at your office, home or private pool. Once completed, students make their four ocean dives in Key Largo. Although we are based in Miami, we offer students the opportunity to dive in the Keys. In Key Largo, we offer fast boats, the best underwater visibility, most abundant marine life, and more than 40 dive sites to choose from. Dives from Miami, however, may be booked at certain times of the year, when weather and demand allow.

$479 each for two; or $449 each for 3 - 4 students
All inclusive PADI OW Certification Course price includes:
- Private, flexibly scheduled class and pool training sessions (7 days a week)
- Complete equipment rental including BC, regulator, tanks, weights and wetsuit
- Four boat dives over two days- Key Largo or Miami sites
- A personal dive log book with waterproof pages
- A light snack and cold bottled water or juice on board the boat
- Transportation from Downtown, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and South Miami)
- Student certification card
A personal mask, snorkel and fins are the only items that each student needs to provide. We offer several complete high quality mask, snorkel and fin sets for sale to students at a discount and will discuss selection and fit during our first class session. You can also rent a set for the entire course for $30 including a wetsuit.

Reservations and payment options
To schedule your course dates and time, complete the contact us form, e-mail us at MiamiScuba@bellsouth.net or call between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM eastern time.
(786) 256-2056. A credit card (MC/VISA) number is needed to reserve your course dates although payment is not collected until the first day of the class. MasterCard, Visa, check or cash are accepted.
Underwater Photography
Have your exhilarating experience captured so that you can share it with others. Instructor Colby Johnson will photograph your dive and shoot video segments of your experience for $45. Cancellation Policy
We require 24 hours notice prior to pick up/check in to change or cancel a reservation with no fee. Otherwise, a cancellation fee of $200 per person will be charged.
From time to time, a boat trip is cancelled due to rough seas or an unforeseen event. If the student's time is limited, we may conduct the student's open water dives at a sheltered lagoon. This location is acceptable for OW training dives but is used only as a back-up option.
